What it detects

This rule detects AWS API calls that stop, delete or reconfigure a CloudTrail trail, which blinds audit logging so subsequent attacker activity goes unrecorded. Disabling cloud logging is a defense-evasion technique profiled in the Red Canary Threat Detection Report cloud coverage. Detecting these control-plane calls surfaces an attacker cutting visibility before further actions.
