What it detects

This rule detects Entra ID/Azure AD directory operations that disable strong authentication or remove a user's registered MFA method, weakening account protection. Identity attacks and MFA tampering are the fastest-growing category in the Red Canary Threat Detection Report, letting adversaries retain access to compromised cloud accounts. Detecting MFA disablement and method removal surfaces account-takeover consolidation before further abuse.
