What it detects

This rule detects HTTP POST requests to the OMI WSMan management endpoint that the OMIGOD vulnerability CVE-2021-38647 abuses to run shell commands as root without an Authorization header on Azure Linux virtual machines. Attackers use this unauthenticated remote code execution path for initial access and privilege escalation, so exposed OMI listeners on ports 5985 5986 and 1270 receiving these requests should be treated as compromise.
