What it detects

This rule detects the RondoDox botnet establishing persistence on Linux hosts by creating an init script named rondo under etc init.d and writing a contact file to the tmp directory. Creation of these named artifacts indicates infection. The bot also links the init script into the runlevel start directory.

Detection content is published as a reviewed draft. Tune thresholds and exclusions against your own telemetry before enabling this rule for alerting.
