What it detects

This rule detects the Outlook process initiating outbound network connections over ports 80 or 445 which indicates a MonikerLink CVE-2024-21413 style forced authentication that leaks NTLM credentials to an attacker controlled host. Outlook should not directly open SMB sessions to external hosts which makes this a strong indicator of credential leakage.
