What it detects

This rule detects execution of the vpn_prot and lowdp SOCKS proxy binaries dropped to a temporary directory during exploitation of Palo Alto GlobalProtect CVE-2024-3400. Threat actors deployed these tools to tunnel traffic and proxy into internal networks. Proxy binaries in temp indicate hands-on-keyboard post-exploitation activity.
