What it detects

This rule detects a process named BDReinit.exe running from a location other than a legitimate Bitdefender installation directory, the masquerading technique used by the WMLOADER component that deploys NANOREMOTE. Renaming the loader to a trusted security-product binary in an unexpected path helps it blend in while it reads its wmsetup.log configuration.

Detection content is published as a reviewed draft. Tune thresholds and exclusions against your own telemetry before enabling this rule for alerting.
