What it detects

This rule detects copy operations that place a binary into the /boot, /boot/grub or /X11 directories, matching the self-propagation behavior of the MSR cryptominer worm. It is associated with cryptominer ELFs abusing MSR reported by Uptycs. Writing executable content into boot related directories is abnormal for normal operations and indicates worm spreading or boot persistence.
